Inducing a Minor into Prostitution


The crime of inducing a minor into prostitution is governed by Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 272 Section 4A.  In order for an individual to be convicted of inducing a minor into prostitution, the Commonwealth must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that:
  • The individual induced a minor to become a prostitute OR
  • The individual knowingly aided and assisted in the inducement of a minor to become a prostitute
Punishment

An individual who commits the crime of inducing a minor into prostitution can be punished by up to 5 years imprisonment in the state prison and by a fine of $5,000.00.  There is a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 3 years.
